This tournament helped set the stage for the first ever TiT (Tournament in Texas), and helped set the pace for national tournament presences beyond the NAMCO national tournaments. Although a JAP PS2 is not such a high prize today in May of 2000 it was highly sought product. Easily going from 700-1500 dollars on E-bay.
This tournament also continues to showcase that California is considered to hold the best players in the United States. California continues to hold their strangle grip of being the nations best in TTT until...?
Also poor Albuquerque New Mexico, we are still trying to win our own tournament when there is a national interest.

The first Tekken in Texas (Later to be known as Tournament In Texas as the games they host is more then just TTT today, from TiT5 they now include SC2, VF4 ect). First major tournament where American players are introduced to the Korean method of Mishima wave dashing, Tekken will never be the same, raising it to new heights in the technical game playing aspect.
The First TiT Texas players wanted a rematch of the New Mexico tournament Adrian "Eddy Pistons" Vs. Thomas "Tommyhilfigure" Kim, feeling Adrian could win it for Texas. But the two players never met in the bracket and California continued to show their dominance in the Tekken U.S. arena.

Over 120 people at this tournament, very exciting. California is expected to win, while allot of people are ready to take there place at the top and show California is no longer where the best play.
Eric "J.O.P" from Atlanta does what everyone else wanted to do but could not, he owns California players, he owns Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado ect ect, Eric Owns the entire tournament. Some call him lucky others talk dynasty only time will tell...
