| Have some interesting
topics that you want share and talk about amongest your fellow gamers
then this is the place to do this.
Anyone can apply to host a panel but there are guidelines that
all must follow:
Outline:
- Provide an outline of the panel that you wish to present.
- Specify the points which you wish to cover in the duration
of your panel including:
- Subject matter of your panel
- How you wish to present the information that you wish to
cover
- The number of persons in your panel
- The tech need that your panel requires in order to run.
- Technical Needs:
We can provide reasonable equipment to assist you in your panel.
Please keep in mind that we have limited equipment, and it is
lent on a first-come first-served basis. The sooner you get your
outline and tech needs in, the sooner we can provide the equipment
for you. SuperCon cannot lend out laptops - if your presentation
requires a laptop, you must supply your own! We have the following
equipment available to lend to you:
- Projector and Screen
- Audio Hookup
- Microphones
- Laptop Hookup
- DVD player
Please keep in mind that you must be specific in your requests.
If you need a microphone, for instance, we need the following information:
What kind? How many? If there is a piece of equipment not listed
above that you need for your presentation, please inquire with our
Programming Director.
Time Restrictions:
Because we have so many people presenting in different rooms at
all times of the day, there are some guidelines that you need to
keep in mind for the happiness of all presenters, including yourself.
When your panel time has reached 45 minutes, you must start wrapping
it up. Plan to keep your panel time to 45 minutes, and do not go
over that time. As with all panels, we have to make sure that there
is enough set-up time for the next person presenting. It makes transitions
for you and the panelists after you easier.
You may rearrange the contents for the panel room as you see fit.
However, please keep in mind that you must re-set the room the way
it was before your panel time is up.
Panel Rooms:
We have 7 panel rooms available at SuperCon. Only a handful of
them have dedicated AV equipment. The workshop and panel Director
will schedule you a room suitable to your needs.
Panel Size:
If you are anticipating a certain amount of attendance to your panel,
or need to limit the size of your panel, please communicate this
to the Workshop and Panel director as soon as possible.
Panel Times:
Because of our limited time schedule, the workshop and panel director
will assign a time and date that will work for you. Keep in mind
the following the following:
- Once your time has been assigned, you may not change the slot
you have been given.
- Our times slots are first come-first serve, so if you have a
specific time you require, get your outline and tech-needs to
the panel and workshop director as soon as you can!
Panelist Badges:
The policy for SuperCon is to give out a free pass to a panelist
if he/she presents no less than 4 hours of time, or presents 4 or
more panels.
Groups that meet the time requirements may receive no more than
4 panelist badges. Each person in the group must participate in
the full time of each panel.
